The Sarath-Shreya starrer Jaggu Bhai’s release is expected to be put off for the time being. The director of the film, K S Ravikumar has completed the shooting of the film and the post-production work is going on.

Meanwhile, Aadhavan directed by K.S.Ravikumar is creating much hype for the never before role that will be portrayed by Surya. The actor will be seen in a negative role for the first time. With Aadhavan expected to be a mega hit, the director is expected to release the film before Jaggu Bhai to create more marketing space for the latter. The director hopes that the Aadhavan effect will rub over Jaggu Bhai. Aadhavan has Surya and Nayanthara in the lead.

The unit of Surya’s Aadhavan completed its second schedule in Kodaikanal. Remember that a major portion of the film was shot in a huge bungalow in Chennai and with that almost 40 percent of the film was completed then.

And last week, the unit took off to Kodai where a song and few scenes were shot. A peppy song tuned by Harris Jayaraj was choreographed by dance master Bhaskar on Surya and Nayanthara in a beautiful mountain side almost 40 kilometer drive from Kodaikanal.

Hats off to director KS Ravikumar who will now complete the film with the next schedule in Kolkatta and two songs which will be shot abroad. Aadhavan schedule for release this Diwali, is one of the hottest projects in Kollywood after Surya’s hat trick of hits.

Wow! It’s so really astonishing to see the working style of Surya. The actor had took a long sabbatical gap after his marriage and then for his ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’.

But now, he seems to be making up for the long interval. With his ‘Ayan’ getting through good response across the centres, his forthcoming film ‘Aadhavan’ directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar will hit the screens by June.

This film features him in more off negative shades with Bollywood’s Rahul Dev as the baddie. Nayanthara dons the female lead while yesteryear actress Saroja Devi has performed a vital role.

Meanwhile, Sources have revealed that the actor would start shooting for his ‘Singam’ directed by Hari in month of June.

One does not know if he is saying it because he has thorough knowledge of Tamil film history or is feeling great after having chilled buttermilk in this scorching heat, but director K.S.Ravi Kumar is confident that Surya’s character in ‘Aadhavan’ is something not seen hitherto in Tamil films.

The film ‘Aadhavan’ is produced by Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies and directed by KS Ravi Kumar. Starring Surya and Nayantara, the total number of main characters is supposed to be more than 50.

“Like in my other films, ‘Aadhavan’ has the mix of family sentiment, action, romance and comedy. But I have created the hero character very different from the usual bani.

Surya has not done such a role till now. He has done an anti-hero role. Once the film is released, his esteem will go up,” says K.S.Ravi Kumar with a mountain of confidence.

Vadivelu’s comedy is integrated into the screenplay. Graphics have been given importance in the film. He added that songs composed by Harris Jayaraj have come out wonderfully.

After going through many problems, Nayantara is now calm like a ship at anchor.

When approached for an interview during ‘Aadhavan‘ shooting, she agreed after some consideration.It’s said you have a short temper?It’s true I have a short temper. But I’m never angry with anyone without reason. Anyone who knows me well, will never misunderstand me. Only those who don’t know me, mistake me. Even if I speak in anger, I forget about it the next minute. I don’t have one thing in my heart and say something else.”

Do actresses have importance in today’s films?

“It has become rare for heroines to be given importance. If heroines are cast in serious roles, distributors feel the film will end up like a TV serial, so no one comes forward to write stories that are heroine centric.

In the last few months, only the heroine of ‘Ghajini’ had the opportunity to show her acting skills. I must say that Asin is very lucky. Trisha, Shreya and I have not received such offers. The directors have to create heroine characters of importance. It is also important that heroes should not have ego.”

The shooting of Aadhavan began today and promos announcing the same are seen in most parts of the city. Keeping up with the trend of attractive promos, Aadhavan’s think-tank have also come up with a beautiful promo. With Surya in the foreground and the rising sun right behind his head, the promo looks very attractive and the lighting effect is a delight for those interested in photography.

Udhayanidhi Stalin and his Red Giant Movies had a launch of their new musical action adventure Aadhavan on Friday morning at AVM studios.

The film directed by the showman of Kollywood, K.S.Ravi Kumar has Surya and Nayanthara together for the first time.

The Surya-Harris Jayaraj combination is once again going to rock after doing back to back musical hits Vaaranam Aayiram and Ayan. The film will also have Vadivel in a comic role.

The story is by comedian N.S.Rameshkhanna better known as Ramesh Kanna, cinematography is by Ra.Ganesh, art director is Rajeevan, editor is Don Max and stunts are by Kanal Kannan. The film is co-produced by M.Senbagamurthy and R.Arjun Dorai.

Nayanthara amidst all controversies surrounding her has flown into Chennai for the photo shoot of the film. This sets to rest the rumours in industry circles that Nayantara has been thrown out of the project.
